IBS affects 1 in 5 people in the UK and is now understood as a disorder of the gut-brain axis, not just a gut problem, which explains why stress triggers symptoms and why psychological treatments are effective.

Treatment must be multifactorial - combining dietary modifications, lifestyle changes (exercise, stress management, sleep), medications, and psychological support rather than focusing on diet alone

How we can work together

The IBS Clarity Framework
  1. Understand your IBS

  2. Calm the gut-brain axis

  3. Build regular eating habits

  4. Improve fibre and fluid intake

  5. Identify common triggers

  6. Consider a light FODMAP approach if appropriate

  7. Review lifestyle factors

  8. Explore additional therapies where indicated

A 60 min session with me is not enough time to extensively go through the list but we can at least have a starting point and give you a first step.
